May is the month of Mary. Traditionally at St. Paul the school children crown Mary on the first Friday of the month. They bring her flowers and sing to honor her. This year will be different, but we are still crowning Mary.

Christ is risen! Truly He is risen! I write this letter in the midst of self-quarantine, from which I hope to emerge on April 15. I will not go in to the specifics of how, but after consulting with my superiors, the potential risk of me spreading the virus to parishioners - especially those with compromised immune systems, justifies this decision. The reality is that due to social distancing guidelines, not a whole lot has had to change during this time. (Spanish text included)
St. Paul Catholic School third grade student Lilyana Aguilar was awarded the People’s Choice Award in the annual Symphony in Color art contest. This statewide enrichment program, sponsored by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Association and Ronald McDonald House Charities, is to encourage young people to develop an appreciation of both music and the visual arts.
St. Paul Catholic School is currently accepting registrations for the 2020-2021 school year. We are a preschool through sixth grade academic community focused on developing each student academically and spiritually for life’s challenges. Children as young as three years of age are able to grow in faith and develop a foundation for achieving excellence. Registering now for next school year is important to our parish as we develop our staffing and budget plans for next year.
Holy Week calls us to enter the most important events of the life of Jesus Christ which accomplish our salvation. Especially, important are the Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter (including the Easter Vigil) collectively referred to as the Triduum. These days are called the Triduum because, even though each concentrates on a particular aspect of Jesus’ death and resurrection, they need to be understood as a whole. While the traditional celebration of these days is being altered this year, it is important that we continue to recall each of these days for their meaning.
St. Paul Catholic Parish staff is working to provide you a way to virtually participate in the Triduum. Each day we will provide a live-stream of the Mass or service. We will also live-stream Easter Sunday in English and Spanish. The live-stream will be available for viewing from the Mass Online page of our website, our Mass Online card on our parish app and via Facebook Live (@StPaulCatholicMarion). The schedule is as follows:
We continue today with our series of pastor notes on the Ten Commandments. Today we consider the fourth commandment, “Honor thy father and mother.” This commandment stands at the crossroads between those commandments centered on the love of God and those directed toward the love of one’s fellow man. This is very appropriate because we often learn about who God is and what His authority and love are like from our experience of our parents. (Spanish text included)
St. Paul Catholic Parish and Holy Family Catholic Church will have a drive thru "Palm Pick-up and Envelope Drop-off" over the next three-days. The schedule is as follows:
