The mission is being hosted by St. Paul and Holy Family Catholic Churches on September 9, 10 and 11 and will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church located at 1031 Kem Road in Marion beginning at 7:00 p.m. each evening.
Leading the mission will be Father James De Oreo, associate pastor at St. Alphonsus Liguori in Zionsville. Fr. De Oreo shares, “St. Paul’s life and letters are an image of Christian life. The first night will be an in-depth look at St. Paul’s conversion. September 10 will look at the second stage of Christian life: growth in the Spirit.” There will be a Reconciliation Service on the third evening.
A parish mission is a preaching event in which God’s word is proclaimed through the Bible and Catholic doctrine. It is a time of grace for individuals and the whole community. In addition to preaching, its core elements are reconciliation, fellowship, prayer, Scripture and healing.
