My name is Lawrence Abanobi, a Priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, Nigeria. I was born in Abuja on the 29th of April 1986 into the family of late Mr. Cyprian and Mrs. Georgina Abanobi. I am from Uga in Aguata Local Government of Anambra State in Nigeria. I had my bachelors in Philosophy formation at Saint Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary Makurdi, after a year of spiritual experience after high school from 2005 to 2009. After a year of pastoral experience, I was granted a scholarship to study bachelors’ degree in Sacred Theology at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome from 2010 to 2013.
At the end of my theological studies, I returned to Nigeria and was ordained a Deacon on the 4th of August 2013 and after six months of pastoral experience, His Eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan, the Archbishop of Abuja Archdiocese, ordained me a Catholic Priest. After my priestly ordination I had the privilege of these pastoral experiences: Assistant Priest at Saint Kevin Catholic Church Jikwoyi, Chaplain at Christ the King College Gwagwalada, Chaplain at Louisville Girls College Old Kutunku, Gwagwalada, Auxiliary Bishop’s Secretary, Assistant Priest at Sacred Heart Gwagwalada, all in Abuja Archdiocese.
On September 2017, I was granted another scholarship to do a License/masters in Philosophy at the Urban University in Rome and I would be graduating by Gods grace June 2019. I sincerely hope to be able to share with you my little faith experience. My academic and pastoral exposures have deepened my Love for God and I believe it’s worth sharing. I hope to learn from your faith journey too and thank you upfront for kindly welcoming me to your midst and pray that my presence would by the grace of God reaffirm you all in the love and deep knowledge of God.
