This summer has been extraordinarily busy. We have had a seminarian, Mr. Jordan Boone, here for the summer. He gave a wonderful series of classes on the faith. We have been enjoying the presence of Fr. Lawrence and his series "The Truth of Catholicism". We have rolled out the diocese's new pastoral plan, Uniting in Heart. We have also been hard at work getting Saint Paul's rectory/office to the level that it can serve as a residence again for a full-time priest. I think I saw my parents for the first time since the auction only last week. We are going to try to slow things down as much as possible until school starts up again in early August so that the tank is full again for the academic year.
We need times to rest and regenerate. Summer vacations are a wonderful thing. May it please God that one of the things that we have not taken vacation from is Sunday Mass attendance.
To Jesus through Mary,
Fr. Christopher
P.S. There have been a lot of rumors going around the two parishes that I will be moving out of Grant County in January of July of 2020. No decisions have been made about re-assignments when the new pastoral plan is implemented. We are in the process of moving from 41 pastors to only 27. Many priests who are pastors now will be assistants at the end of this process. Some transfers will be necessary to match skills with pastorates. I have no clue what this means for me and my assignment.
