have been designated "Church Unity Octave" a particular time to pray that the divisions among Christians be overcome. Whenever we talk about Christian unity we need to keep at least a couple realities in mind. First, there are significant differences among Christians and we cannot pretend they do not matter. Second, what Christians share in common is far more important and profound than what divides us. I hope that Church Unity Octave will help us seek to grow in the unity to which Jesus Christ calls us. It happens that January 25 which marks the end of Church Unity Octave is also the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul which is St. Paul Parish's Feastday. Everyone is invited to participate in Vespers at 5:30p.m. on January 25 and the soup supper which will follow Vespers. Vespers will be in church and the soup supper in McCarthy Hall.
