Setting Up the Parish App
Bulletins, Calendar, Schedules & More
What time is Bible Study? Does SRE meet this week?
There is no need to guess. Just open our parish app on your phone and scroll down the home screen to the "Parish Calendar" section. Click on the ink to view all upcoming parish events on the calendar. You now have an up-to-date calendar of parish events and times right at your fingertips.
Not sure if you are scheduled to serve as a reader, altar server or extraordinary minister of Holy Communion this weekend? Tap the three horizontal lines in the lower right-corner of the screen to bring up the "More" menu. Tap on "Ministries Calendar" and you will find the link to the ministries schedule. Never miss your week again because you lost your schedule - you have it right in your hand.
Mass and Reconciliation schedules, current and previous parish bulletins, parish staff and contact information, Sacraments, daily Mass readings, prayers - all right there for you on either the home screen or in the "More" menu.
One of the most useful features of the parish app is the ability to receive notifications from the parish office about any ministry or parish group to which you belong. At present, the following ministries and groups can receive notifications through the app; others can be added as needed.
Altar Servers | General | Prayer Chain | Social Committee |
Buildings & Grounds | Greeters | RCIA | SRE |
Children's Liturgy | Liturgy Committee | Readers | Ushers |
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion | Music Ministry | School Advisory Committee | Youth Group |
Finance Council | Parish Council | Knights of Columbus |
The first step in the process is to make sure that your mobile device is set to allow notifications from the St. Paul Parish app. If it is not, you will not be able to receive notifications. This can be changed in the settings menu on your device. Once you have allowed notifications from the parish app, you will need to set your preferences by indicating from which ministries and group(s) you wish to receive notifications. Here's how:
That's all there is to it! Now you are all set to receive important notifications from the parish office concerning your parish ministry or group. You can also review any notifications you may have missed by using the "Messages" icon on the bottom of the app.
What is the purpose of the app?
The purpose of the app is to help you have your parish right at your fingertips. You can find information you need, whenever you need it. The app also serves as a way for you to receive notifications from the parish office regarding ministries or groups for which you are involved. See above for help on receiving notifications.
What will I find on the app?
On the parish app you will find the latest bulletin, Mass times, contact information, daily readings, Sacraments and more. Information available is updated relative to what is happening in the parish.
How much will the parish app cost me?
The parish app is free for you to download, but data rates do apply. To download the parish app, visit your app store for your smart device.
Why should I allow notifications?
We understand that you may not like to get notifications from the apps you have on your smart device. However, we recommend that you allow notifications from the parish app so that you can stay connected with us. You can personalize your app by selecting which ministries or groups you would like to receive notifications from.
Why I am not receiving notifications from the ministry or group I selected?
There are a couple possible reasons. First, check to be sure that you have allowed notifications from the parish app. This can be checked in the settings menu on your smart device. Another reason could be that your ministry or group is no longer toggled on (set to green) for you to receive notifications from them. This can happen if you changed your home parish to view the app of another parish. When you are in the St. Paul Parish app, check your "Message Settings" found under the "More" menu to be sure your ministry or group is toggled on (the area to the right of the name is green). To see if the issue has been corrected, tap on the "Message" icon along the bottom of the app. The "Messages" page should show any messages sent from the ministry or group to which you have subscribed. If this does not resolve the issue, please contact the Parish Office (765-664-6345).
